For 1890s, Ẹgbado people come beg British make dem put dem under protectorate, so British come put small army there. From that time, Ẹgbado come get freedom from Egba people. By 1914, British come add Ẹgbado Division to Abeokuta Province. Later, dem move administrative headquarters go another place when Ogun State come dey.

For 1995, Ẹgbado people change their name to Yewa, after the Yewa River wey pass through their land. Today, Yewa people dey do farming, but some still dey do handwork and textile business. Dem dey mainly for Ado-Odo/Ota, Ipokia, Yewa South, Yewa North, Imeko-Afon, and small part of Abeokuta North.
