Mama Lü (dem write her name for Chinese as 呂母, dem dey call am Lǚ Mǔ) na woman wey lead rebellion against di Xin dynasty for China. She be di first woman for Chinese history wey lead rebellion. Mama Lü born when Western Han dynasty still dey rule China. But for 9 AD, di chief minister wey dem call Wang Mang use trick take collect di king position, come make himself emperor of Xin dynasty.

Wang Mang change many things for di country, but di big people wey get land no like di new law wey e bring. As di matter dey bad, flood come happen for di Yellow River area, and e make life hard for plenty people. All dis wahala make many people no like di government.

Mama Lü dey live for one place wey dem call Haiqu County, for Langya Commandery. Dis place dey inside Shandong province for China today. Her family get plenty money — dem talk say di money reach millions of coins according to Book of di Later Han.

For 14 AD, di government kill Mama Lü son wey dem call Lü Yu. Di boy bin dey work for government for Haiqu County, but dem say e commit small offence, and dem kill am because of dat.

Mama Lü fight make plenty people for different part of China get courage to start their own rebellion against Wang Mang government. Her own army grow well well until e reach tens of thousands of people.

But for 18 AD, Mama Lü die because of sickness. After she die, di people wey follow her come join another rebel leader wey dem call Fan Chong. Fan Chong na person wey also dey fight di government for one place wey dem call Ju County.

As dem join body, di new group wey dem form na di one wey people come dey call Red Eyebrows. Na dem and another rebel group finally help destroy Wang Mang government.

Historians dey respect Mama Lü because na she first start di fight wey finally make di Xin dynasty collapse, so di Han dynasty fit come back, and na Liu Xiu (wey dem also call Emperor Guangwu) become di first emperor for di new Eastern Han dynasty.
